Abdullah Bey's Obituary
Abdullah Bey, (Gerald Bernard Turner) age 61, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 16, 2018 in a local hospice. Educated in the public schools of Duval County, he graduated from William Raines Senior High School- Class of 1974. After which he served his country in the U.S. Army, until being honorably discharged. Mr. Bey then moved to New York City, NY, where he was employed with the U.S. Postal Service, rendering over 20 years of service until retiring. Relocating to Jacksonville in 2015, he joined Living the Word Christian Church, Rev. Michael McCoy, Pastor. Other affiliations include membership of Royal Vagabonds, Inc. and Former Grand Officer in the M.W. Hiram Grand Lodge, State of New York. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Valerie Blake-Bey; son, Cori Washington; step-daughters, Mrs. Paige Butler (Jeffery) and Ms. Stacy Shaw; siblings, Ms. Jeanette Isom, Mrs. Audrey Frasier, Ms. Patricia Kelsey, Hanif Shakir (Arthur Lee Turner, Jr.); a number of other relatives and friends.
