Obituary

Our incredibly loved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to so many, passed away into the arms of Jesus on October 10, 2026.

Born November 2, 1941, to Samuel Alexander Smith and Pearl Allen Smith in Nashville, Tennessee, Alice had several brothers and sisters.

Alice was a wonderful, selfless mother. She had three children and her love for them was endless and unconditional. She carried the loss of her beloved daughter, Rosalind Ann NeSmith, deep in her heart. We find comfort in imagining the joy she must have felt when she opened her eyes in heaven and was reunited with her precious daughter once again. A bond that death could never break was finally made whole again.

She leaves behind her two other children to cherish her legacy: Bobby Clemons (Kristin) and Ramona Bronson (Chappelle). A mother's love does not end with goodbye; it lives on in the memories she created.

She has 10 grandchildren who she adored: Kia Holmes (Steve), Alexsandria Jones, Tiffanie McNeil (Mori), Antonio NeSmith (Jessica), Anthony NeSmith, Jr. (Kristen), Bobby Gene Clemons III, Isaac Henry Moore, Isaiah Alexander Clemons, and her grandson Johnnie Young, who preceded her in death earlier this year.

Her legacy extends to more than 20 great grandchildren who loved her deeply and always looked forward to spending time with her.

Alice moved to Jacksonville in the 1960s and here is where she raised her family. For 40+ years, Alice drove school busses and was so proud of her work! She enjoyed the children, the interactions, and the love bestowed upon everyone she touched over many years.

Alice was an incredible friend and neighbor. She was selfless and often times comical - even if she didn't mean to be. She had a way of making life brighter. She loved sewing and would always find a reason to make pillows for friends and family. To Alice, it was never about the pillows, rather giving a piece of herself to the people she loved.

Alice didn't need much to make her happy - just some sherbet and a Pepsi (which then became her water bottle!). If heaven has a refrigerator, we hope it's stocked with both of these, she'd have it no other way.

Her family mourns her passing and we will miss her for the rest of our lives! We will honor her by spreading love and kindness and ask all who loved her to do the same.
