Carter Eugen Grant's Obituary
A native of Jacksonville, he attended the public schools in Duval County. Mr. Grant relocated to Detroit, MI where he was a dedicated employee of the Ford Motor Corporation, rendering 30 years of service. He was a former member of Central CME Church, a member of the Florida Chapter of the Grant Family Reunion and the Ford Motor Company Workers Union. Mr. Grant was predeceased by (4) children; Terry, Tyrone, Tony and LaToya Grant; his parents; (2) sisters; and (7) brothers. Survivors include his devoted wife, Mrs. Alice Austin Grant; children, Gerald Grant of Harrisburg, PA, Ms. Sheriyln Grant of Detroit, MI, Carter Grant, Jr. of New York, NY, Ms. B'Leaka Grant of St. Petersburg, FL; 17 grandchildren, including a loving adopted granddaughter, Ms. Antoinette Heard of New York City, NY; 9 great grandchildren; sisters, Ms. Minnie Voorhees, Ms. Lelia Johnson of Atlanta, GA and Ms. Joyce Grant; sister-in-law, Ms. Gloria Howell (James); brother-in-law, Kenneth Austin; a number of other relatives and friends.
