Mrs. Christine Dobson, affectionately known as "Mother," was born in West Palm Beach, Florida to the late John Winn and Eva Simmons on September 21, 1933.  Mother was raised, educated and accepted Christ at an early age in Walterboro, South Carolina, where she attended St. Peter's A.M.E. Church in Walterboro, South Carolina.

She was married to Bob E. Dobson December 14, 1950.  From this union, three children, Marvin, Velda and Waynesan were born.  The family moved to Jacksonville, Florida in 1964, where Mother joined Ebenezer United Methodist Church and became an active, lifelong member.

Mother was a member of the "Emanual Family Prayer Group," The Adult Mass Choir, The United Methodist Womens and the "Prayer Warriors" of Ebenezer United Methodist Church.

She retired from the Duval County School Board after thirty-two years of dedicated service.

Mother was preceded in death by her husband, both parents, five siblings and a grandson.

On May 21, 2021, Mother went home to be with the Lord. She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Marvin (Imelda), Pastor Velda (Paul) and Waynesan (Margie); devoted sister, Mrs. Dorothy Jones (Charles); sister-in-law, Mrs. Carolyn Winn and brother-in-law, Mr. Willie Shark; godson, Capus Chester (Annette); fifteen grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, devoted friends, including Mrs. Betty Emanual and Mrs. Maggie Felder along with many others.
