Obituary

Ms. Claudette Milton Taylor was born on July 2, 1941 to the late Mr. Terry Lee Milton and Mrs. Bernice Dixon Milton in Quincey, Florida.

Ms. Taylor was the first born of four siblings. The Milton Family migrated further north to Jacksonville, FL seeking better education and economic opportunities. Claudette was educated in the public schools of Duval County. She is a graduate of New Stanton High School Class of 1958.

Early in her professional career, Claudette became one of a few African American retail buyers for Ivey's Department Stores in Downtown Jacksonville. She later transitioned to Communications and retired in 2010 after completing 39yrs of service at WJXT Channel 4 News Station.

Claudette was a champion for her family, she carried a torch through every trial and triumph for her family without a second thought because she knew no other way to live. Anyone that was close to her leaned on her for support and guidance as she was always there to uplift every person that ever landed on her doorstep. She lived her life with the strength of her faith in God's ability to carry her through trials and tribulations and she passed those values on to the next generation. Claudette embodied what it meant to be a caregiver and true matriarch, living her life with poise, grace and dignity in the face of life's challenges.
