Daniel Webster Scott, Jr., affectionately known as, "Dan", was born on November 1, 1940, in Saint Augustine, Florida to the late Daniel and Lula Belle Frazier Scott. He attended the local schools of Duval County and graduated from Mathew W. Gilbert Junior-Senior High School-Class of 1958.

Shortly after high school he was wed to the former Miss. Gwendolyn Graham and this union was blessed with four sons.

Early in life, Mr. Scott accepted Christ and became a member at Saint Pius V Catholic Church, currently under leadership of Reverend Bernardine Eikhuemelo. His church affiliations, include Knights of Columbus. Also, he was a member of the Eastside Bible study group.

After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Navy, where for several years, he served as a Drug and Alcohol Counselor, among other assignments. He served his country Honorably for 28 years before retiring as a Chief Petty Officer.

On November 1, 2017, Mr. Scott was united in Holy Matrimony to the former Miss Arneice Young and together they were blessed with a blended family of ten children.

His post-retirement journey included Entrepreneurship as a business owner of two of Jacksonville's Pic 'N Pay Stores located in Washington Heights and Sherwood Forest communities. The Sherwood Forest location included a laundromat. Mr. Scott has dedicated over 25 years to entrepreneurship. He often referred to himself as "The Legendary Dan Scott" and was quiet the Philospher.

Mr. Scott was predeceased by his parents Daniel and Lula Scott, first wife Mrs. Gwendolyn Scott and son, Pastor Gary Key, Derrick Scott, Micheal Scott and Nehemiah Nash

On Sunday, April 30, 2023, Mr. Scott passed away peacefully. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Mrs. Arneice Scott; children, Daniel Scott,III, DeWayne Scott (Felicia), Ms. Nesha Lewis, Ms. Nepresha Watkins, Ms. Neccienega Nash, Ms.Neiisha Nash, Ms. NeZeila Nash-Scott, Nefrisco Nash, Ms. Nechiemelum Nash, Ms. Shawndra Scott, Esq. and Ms. NeHeaven Scott; grandchildren, Angelina Key, Johnathan Key Scott( Latasha Key-Scott), Kevin Underwood, Enoch Tramel, Joshua Scott, Dankeem Scott, Delicia Jenkins, Miyah Scott, Shiya Scott, Malachi McKinnies, Olajuwah Scott, Jewel McKinnies, Bryan McKinnies, Hasson Scott, Danquailia Scott , Endia, Sean, Zaire, Nylen, Lily, Knolyn, Zola, Lila Ja'Liyah, D'Arlincia, Khaziah, Josiah and Messiah ; great grandchildren; great-great grandchildren; god brother, John Shannon (Carolyn); sister- in-laws, Mrs. Deborah Carey(Anthony), Ms. Vanessa Scott; devoted cousins, Mrs. Chenise Goggans, M. Von Jones, Jeff Brown, Elton Brown; a number of nieces, nephews, other cousins, other relatives and friends.
