Mrs. Cynthia Odol Hopkins passed away peacefully December 12, 2021.  A Jacksonville native, she attended the local schools, graduating from Sandalwood Senior High School – Class of 1974.  Furthering her education, Mrs. Hopkins attended Florida A&M University, where she earned a B.S. degree in Social Services.  She was employed by the Duval County School Board as a Teacher at San Jose Elementary School for twelve years and Greenland Pines Elementary School for twenty-four years before retiring. Other affiliations include being a member of New Bethlehem Baptist Church.  Mrs. Hopkins was predeceased by her parents, William and Mrs. Jacquelyn Bowen Odol; brother, Javan Odol and husband, Douglas Hopkins.  Survivors include her children Darius N. Hopkins (fiancée, LaTasha Hart) and Erik C. Hopkins (Sandy); stepson, Lanell Ellington; grandsons, Tristian Hopkins and Jae Hopkins; sister, Mrs. Clarissa Genwright; nephew, Frederick Jones; family friends, Sondra Williams and Geraldine Napoleon; a number of other nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
