Mrs. Davida Antoinette Ballard Woods was born to the late Rev. Benjamin Ballard and Mrs. Ona Mae Ford Ballard on September 24, 1951, in Jacksonville, Florida. Davida's early education was obtained in Duval County public schools. She graduated in the first four year graduating class from William M. Raines Senior High School in 1969.  Furthering her education, she attended Florida A&M University in Tallahassee, Florida earning her bachelor's degree in business administration, which prepared her for diverse work opportunities.

She retired from the workforce as a senior level computer information technology (IT) technician & trainer with Hewlett-Packard, which spanned more than thirty years of creditable and dedicated service.

In 1976, the former Miss Davida Antoinette Ballard was united in holy matrimony to her high school sweetheart, Drew Woods.  This union was blessed for fourteen years.

Mrs. Davida Antoinette Ballard Woods departed this life on February 10,2024. She was preceded in death by her husband, Drew Woods; her parents, Rev. Benjamin Ballard and Mrs. Ona Mae Ford Ballard; and sister, Paula Ballard Everett. Davida leaves to cherish her memories her siblings, brothers- her twin LT. Col. (Retired) David A. Ballard, US Army, and Paul L. Ballard (Cordelia) and her sister, Ms. Celeste Ballard Brewer; her aunt, Mrs. Frances Warner; her uncle, Henry Ford; a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
