Obituary

Debra Celeste Baker, a beacon of love and faith, peacefully entered eternal rest on December 26, 2024. Born on September 15, 1956, in Fort Riley, Kansas, she was the cherished firstborn child of Gerald and Patricia Laneaux.

After graduating from Andres High School in El Paso, Texas, Debra embarked on a successful career in Retail Management in the automotive parts industry. Driven by a thirst for knowledge, she later pursued higher education, earning an Associate's degree while working towards her Bachelor's in Elementary Education.

Those who knew Debra intimately recognized her unwavering devotion to her faith. She strived to embody the grace and love of the Lord in all aspects of her life. Family was the cornerstone of her world. She embraced her loved ones with open arms, cherishing both immediate and extended family members.

Facing life's challenges with untiring determination and quiet peace, Debra was a source of support and encouragement to all those around her. Her affection was boundless, and she found immense joy in her roles as wife, mother, aunt, sister, friend, and, most importantly, grandmother. At the time of her passing, she was an active and dedicated member of The Bethel Church, where she faithfully served in the children's ministry, nurturing young hearts with love and compassion.

Debra was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Gerald and Patricia Laneaux, Sr, and her brothers, Lionel and Gerald Jr. She leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories, survived by her loyal husband, Japhus Baker II; her three loving daughters, Tameka, Deidre, and Brittany (Miguel); and her four cherished grandchildren, Sydney, Noah, Erin, and Brayden. She will be deeply missed by her siblings: Angela, Sandra (Ethelma), Trina, Pierre, Thomas, Geraldine, Gerald, Robin (Larry), Montez, and Barbara (Lawrence), as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a vast circle of friends.

Her radiant spirit and devoted love will forever be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
