Donald Bailey was one of six children born to the late David Bailey, Sr. and Mrs. Lucille Goodbread Bailey.  He was born on February 20, 1944 in Lake Butler, Florida.  He received his early education in the schools of Vero Beach, Florida, graduating from Gilford High School—Class of 1962.

Early in life, he accepted Christ as his savior and at the time of his demise he was a member of  Moncrief Missionary Baptist Church, currently under the pastorate of Reverend Quovadis Thomas.

For over 20 years, Mr. Bailey was employed in the Construction industry.  Also, he and former wife, Shirley, started singing together with Jackie Moore.

Mr. Donald Bailey departed this life on Tuesday , May 6, 2025 in Jacksonville, Florida.  He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Richard Bailey; and sister, Ms. Laura Deary.  He leaves a loving family to cherish his memory, including his children, Ms. Donetta Bailey, Donald Bailey, Jr.(Michelle), and Peter Bailey (Kesia), Ms. Tanya Bailey, and Ms. Candace Wyethe ; siblings, David Bailey (Kathy), Amos Bailey, Johnnie Bailey, and Mrs. Janet Brown (Larry); aunt, Mrs. Mary L. Foster; devoted cousin, Ms. Freddie Greene; a number of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and neighborhood friends.
