GRANT Funeral Service for Mrs. Doretha Sterricks Grant will be held 10AM, SATURDAY, August 13, 2005 in Mt. Sinai Baptist Church, where she held membership, with Rev. Reginald Gundy, Pastor, officiating. Mrs. Grant of 1462 Blues Creek Dr. passed away August 7, 2005 surrounded by her loving family. A Jacksonville native, Mrs. Grant was united in matrimony to Joseph L. Grant, Sr., who predeceased her and this union was blessed with 15 children, three of whom predeceased her, Mses. Rozena Robertson, Margaret Colder, and Judy Jenkins. Survivors include her 8 daughters, Mses. Christine G. Davis, Vermell Grant, Adrena Ford, JoeAnn Maxwell (Terrence), Brenda Grant, Joletha Williams (Ronald), Maxine Gillespie, and Deborah Grant; 4 sons, John (Bertha), Joseph (Florence), George (Alma) and Lionel (Sandra); grandchildren; great grandchildren; great great grandchildren; sisters, Mses Frankie Whitfield and Delores Rhodes; a number nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends. Mrs. Grant will rest in the mortuary for visitation of friends FRIDAY from 5PM until 8PM (where the family will receive friends at 5PM) and in the church Saturday from 9AM until the hour of service. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery. The cortege will assemble at 1462 Blues Creek Dr. under the direction of ALPHONSO WEST MORTUARY, INC., 4409 Soutel Dr. (766-9671).
