Obituary

Mrs. Dorothy Hill Johnson was born on February 5, 1935 in Eufaula, Alabama to the late Caesar Hill and Mrs. Mattie Pugh Hill.  She attended the local public schools of Barbour County, graduating from Van Buren Senior High School.

She accepted Christ at an early age at Antioch Baptist Church in Eufaula, Alabama.

She relocated to Jacksonville and united in fellowship with Emanuel Missionary Baptist Church under the present leadership of Reverend William B. Wiggins, where she served on Usher Board #4.

Mrs. Johnson was Owner/Operator of Dottie's Sundries and Groceries, having rendered over thirty years of dedicated service before retiring.

She was predeceased by her husband,  Isaiah Johnson; sisters, Ms. Lillie Bell Watts, Ms. Leola Brumsfield and Ms. Onnie McCormick and brothers, David, Cecil, Edgar, Alonzo, Otis and John Hill.

On April 23, 2021 Mrs. Dorothy Hill Johnson went home to be with the Lord.  She leaves to cherish her memory her son, Alfonza Hill; brothers, Percy Hill and Jessie Bobby Hill; brother-in-law, Larry Johnson; godson, Freddie Stringer; a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
