Mrs. Edith Sawyer Golphin passed away on August 10, 2021.  A native of Fitzgerald, GA, she attended the local schools of Ben Hill County, graduating from Fitzgerald Senior High School – Class of 1978.  In her adult life, she relocated to Jacksonville, where she employed by Comfort Keepers as a CNA, having rendered over 10 years of dedicated service.  She was predeceased by her husband, Leroy Golphin and her sister, Kathy Smith.  Survivors include her children, Desmond T. Sawyer, Augusta, GA, Quinton C. Smith (Daffaney) and Brandon S. Smith (Kurshena); sister, Debra J. Searey (Henry), Fitzgerald, GA; brother, Kenneth Sawyer (Rhoda); 17 grandchildren; a number of other relatives and friends.
