HOWELL Mrs. Ella Mae Howell passed away January 13, 2011. She was a native of Boston, GA, having resided in Jacksonville most of her life. Mrs. Howell was born to the late George Jenkins and Mrs. Sallie Barnes Jenkins. She was employed with the Stuart Dress Store as a Housekeeper with 10 years of dedicated service until retiring in 1973. For many years Mrs. Howell was a faithful member of West Union Missionary Baptist Church, serving on Usher Board # 1, District # 3 and the Friendly Sympathy Club. Mrs. Howell was predeceased by her parents, husband, Emory "Sheften" Howell; son, Emory Herschel Howell and Siblings. Survivors include grandson's, Emory H. Howell, Jr. (Helen) and Kermit E. Howell (Maria); nieces, Betty Blue (Sylvester), Ms. Ella M. Crawford, Mrs. Ruby Smith (Earnest) and Mrs. Rosa Mae Randall (Calvin); nephew, Clifford Jenkins (Zeria); daughter-in-law, Mrs. Kathryn T. Howell; a number of grand-nieces, grand-nephews, cousins other relatives and friends. FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 10 AM, Saturday, January 22, 2011 at West Union Missionary Baptist Church, Rev. Leroy Kelly, Pastor, officiating. Mrs. Howell will rest in the mortuary for visitation Thursday from 5 PM until 8 PM (where the family will receive friends at 5 PM), and Saturday at the church from 9 AM until the hour of service. Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends are asked to assemble at the church under the direction of ALPHONSO WEST MORTUARY, INC., 4409 Soutel Dr., 904-766-9671.
