Mrs. Estella McIntel Bennefield Groover passed away on May 15, 2020 in a local hospital.  A native of Jacksonville, she attended the local public schools, graduating from New Stanton Senior High School – Class of 1967.  Furthering her education, she attended University of Phoenix, where she earned a B.S. degree.  Mrs. Groover was employed as an Administrator for Blue Cross/Blue Shield, having rendered over 39 years of dedicated service before retiring. Other affiliations include being President of LSAT Committee at Wolfson High School.  She was predeceased by her parents; sister, Ms. Alainna LaVern Taylor and daughter, Shannon N. Bennefield.  Survivors include her husband, Jimmy Groover; son, Washington Bennefield (Patti); stepdaughter, Ms. Pamdrea Groover-Ivory; grandchildren, Brittany A. Bennefield, Stephanie K. Bennefield, Nakia Jefferson and Markia Ivory; great-grandchildren, Larry Zanders, Lola Zanders and Jeovanni Franklin; sister, Ms. Jonette McIntel Johnson; 2 sisters-in-law; 7 brothers-in-law; a number of other relatives and friends.
