A Time to Be Born: Mrs. Geraldine Boatwright Foster was the daughter of the late William and Emma Boatwright. She was born April 15, 1926 in Wheeler County, Georgia. She was the tenth child of fourteen siblings; twelve preceded her in death.
A Time to Be Educated: Mrs. Foster attended the public schools of Georgia, completing the primary and elementary levels. She attended and graduated from Stanton Senior High School in Jacksonville, Florida, June 1948. Later she attended Savannah State College, Savannah, Georgia for two years. She continued her education at Edward Waters College, majoring in Elementary Education. Mrs. Foster did further studies at Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University in Tallahassee, Florida, and the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida. She was employed with Duval County School Board of Education upon retiring in 1990.
A Time to Worship: She connected herself with the Central Valley Baptist Church in McRae, Georgia during the life of her parents. Mrs. Foster moved to Jacksonville, Florida and united herself with Dayspring Baptist Church. Knowing how important it was to keep family together, she joined Ebenezer United Methodist Church, so the family could worship together. Mrs. Foster continued serving the Lord at Saint Andrews CME Church in Brunswick, Georgia.
A Time to be United in Holy Matrimony: In 1953, she was united in holy matrimony to Willard Allen Foster, Sr. of Jacksonville, Florida, who preceded her in death. To this union two sons were born.
A Time to Die: Mrs. Foster moved to Brunswick, Georgia, where she resided until transitioning from her earthly home with love, affection, and gratitude to her heavenly home on March 9, 2021.
A Time to Cherish: She leaves to mourn her lovely memories, two sons, Willard Allen Foster, Jr. (Barbara) of Brunswick, Georgia and Gerald Richard Foster, Sr. (Victoria) of Jacksonville, Florida; three grandchildren, Tanesha Foster Fields of Melbourne, Florida, Willard Allen Foster, III (Kia) of Savannah, Georgia and Gerald Richard Foster, II (Taqueena) of Jacksonville, Florida; four great grandchildren, Genesis Fields, Ja'Kai Fields both of Melbourne, Florida, Gerald Richard Foster, III and Quan Jones both of Jacksonville, Florida; sister, Mrs. Clarkye Boatwright Wilks (Jesse) of Charlotte, North Carolina; neighbor, Iveria Cromity; goddaughter, Erica Bunch; former coworker, Sarah Holbach; a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
