Mrs. Gloria Jean Thorpe Brown passed away June 30, 2021.  A native of Jacksonville, she attended the local schools, graduating from New Stanton Senior High School - Class of 1964.  Furthering her education, she attended Florida Junior College where she received certification as a Nursing Assistant.  Mrs. Brown was by Turtle Creek Nursing Center, where she rendered over 20 years of dedicated service before retiring.  She was predeceased by her parents, John and Nellie Thorpe; husband, Eugene Brown; grandson, Eugene Brown, III; brother, John Thorpe, Jr. and sister, Joann Thorpe.  She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Ms. Stephanie V. Brown, Eugene A. Brown, Jr. and Ms. Vanessa Brown Denton; grandchildren, Tranne Brown Bussey (Eric) and Janae D. Brown; great granddaughter, Rayne A. Bussey; a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
