Obituary

Mrs. May passed away peacefully on August 3, 2018 in a local hospital. A native of Jacksonville, she attended the local public schools of Duval County, graduating from Stanton High School – Class of 1948.  Mrs. May was employed as a Sales Associate with Lerner Shops, Inc. before retiring after rendering over 10 years of dedicated service.  She was predeceased by her husband, Lawrence May; daughter, Marva D. Stewart and son, Lawrence C. May.  Survivors include her children, Mrs. Bonnie Mims Flowers (Charles), Marvin Kohn, Charles Goodman (Denise), Roland May, Sheldon May, Ms. Sonya May; 53 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; 8 great-great grandchildren; brother, June Lundy (Sarah); sister, Mrs. Catherine Davis (Robert); sisters-in-law, Mrs. Carrie Lundy, Faye Hildreth, Mrs. Eloise Carter and Mrs. Ora Lee Clayton; brothers-in-law, Roy and Arthur Anderson; a number of other relatives and friends.
