Mrs. Jacquelyn Jones Christopher was born on August 14, 1950, in Jacksonville,Florida to the late Thomas Jones, Jr. and Deaconess Mrs. Bessie Frazier Jones. She was educated in the Duval County School System and was a proud graduate of William M. Raines Senior High School, Class of 1968.

Furthering her education, Mrs. Christopher studied at the University of Florida and earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematics & Biology at Edward Waters College (now University). She later conferred a Master's Degree in Educational Administration & Supervision from Nova Southeastern University.

As one of Duval County's Outstanding Educators, Mrs. Christopher served as the first Black Principal of Landon Middle School. She dedicated more than 35 years of service as a teacher and administrator with the Duval County School Board.

On June 19, 1976, Jacquelyn wed John L. Christopher, Jr.. To this loving union, two devoted children were born, John L. Christopher, III and Dr. Jacquelyn Lavone Christopher.

Her Christian walk began at Tabernacle Baptist Church, thus continuing at First Baptist Church of Oakland. A devoted Christian woman, Mrs. Christopher was a faithful member of the 11 th Episcopal District of the African Methodist Episcopal Church. Holding membership at St. Paul AME Church she shared her love for Christ through the following ministries: The Stewardess Board, The Women of Allen, The Johnson and Brooks Vacation Bible School, Married Couples, Education Committee, Evangelism Team and the Church Directory. Mrs. Christopher continued her spiritual journey under the leadership of The Rev. Dr. Leslie Washington of Allen Chapel A.M.E. Church.

Her other affiliations included the Gamma Rho Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, the Red Hatter's Society, Phi Delta Kappa Fraternity and the Duval Teachers United.

Surrounded by her loving and devoted family, Mrs. Jacquelyn Jones Christopher peacefully transitioned from this Life to Heavenly Glory on Thursday, April 9, 2026.

She leaves to cherish her loving memories, her husband: John L. Christopher, Jr.; children John L. Christopher, III and Dr. Jacquelyn Lavone Christopher; siblings, Mrs.Rosalind Jones McClain (Freddie), Mrs. Johnnie Mae Gibson (John), Ms. Deborah Jones Morton, Mrs. Denise Jones Dawson (Mark) and Ms. JoAnn Jones; brother-in-law, Tyrone Thornton, Vallejo, CA.; devoted friend, Ms. Barbara Hayes; along with a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and sorrowing friends.

Mrs. Christopher will be remembered for her strength, her servant's heart and her unwavering faith in God. Her legacy of love and devotion will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
