Obituary

James Edward Cameron was born in Blackshear, Georgia on April 12, 1936 to Dann Cameron and Elnora Shannon.  He attended public schools in Bryceville, and Jacksonville, Florida.  After graduating, James enlisted and served active duty in the United States Army from 1953 to 1956.  As a paratrooper, he served in the Korean War. James continued his service with the United States Army Reserve from 1956 to 1961.

He later entered the Florida National Guard from 1975 to 1977.  He was employed with the United States Postal Service until he retired with over twenty years of Honorable service.

James was preceded in death by his parents, Dann Cameron and Elnora Shannon; brothers, Dann and John Cameron and his grandson, Erick Parland.

He leaves to cherish his memories his friend, companion, caretaker and wife for over forty five years, Mattie Mae Cameron; daughter, Marnita V. Cameron of Brunswick, Georgia; son, Wilton L. Cameron, Sr. (Akelia) of Gatlinburg, Tennessee; stepdaughter, Deloris Harris (Gary); brother, Bishop Arthur L. Adams; goddaughter, Debbie G. Bean; godson, Earnest Wilson all of Jacksonville, Florida. He also leaves four grandchildren, James Cameron, Wilton Cameron, Jr., Kiara Harris, Garold Harris; three great grandchildren, Za'Cari, Zayden and Kaleb Cameron; a hot of nieces, nephews, cousins and friend and a special buddy, Bryon Samuels, Jr.
