Mrs. Bridges passed away October 24, 2020.  A native of Capps, AL, having resided in Jacksonville most of her life and attended the local public schools, graduating from Stanton Senior High School – Class of 1958.  Furthering her education, she attended Edward Waters College, where she earned a BS degree and later Florida A&M University, where the Masters degree was conferred.  As one of Duval County's Outstanding Educators, Mrs. Bridges was employed by Duval County Public School System, having retired after rendering over 31 years of dedicated service.  Other affiliations include being a faithful member of Petra Missionary Baptist Church and Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. She was predeceased by her husband, Perry Bridges.  Survivors include her brother, John Diggs (Frances); nephew, John Diggs, Jr.; nieces, Verna Sullins (Douglas) of New York and Veronica Curry (Haywood) of Connecticut; devoted cousins, Betty Brown, Sharon McGruder and James Lunsford; best friend, Mary Roper; a number of other relatives and friends
