October 24, 1932 – August 4, 2023
John W. Andrews was born October 24, 1932, in Jacksonville, Florida. He was the only child of the late John & Daisy Andrews. He attended the public schools of Duval County, graduating from Stanton Senior High School-Class of 1950.
After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army and actively servedhis country Honorably in the Korean War. After leaving the military he attended Florida A & M University in Tallahassee, Florida. At an early age, he accepted Christ and became a member of Central Metropolitan CME Church.
John was employed as a Clerk with the United States Postal Service until retiring in 1988, after rendereing over 30 years of dedicated service. After retirement he loved relaxing, spending time with friends and family and enjoying his favorite and loyal companion "Brutus".
On Thursday, August 4, 2023, our Merciful God called him home. His charismatic personality and kind spirit will be profoundly missed.
He is preceded in death by his oldest son, John E. Andrews. He is survived by his wife, Trixie B Andrews; children, Eric T. Andrews (Corrine Mathias),Yvette D. Andrews, Lynn A. Martin (Kelvin); grandchildren, Eric T. Andrews II, Marcus J. Andrews, Kelvin A. Martin, Cameron B. Martin; great granddaughter, Eryn R. Andrews; sister, Jacqueline Tillman; nephew Jimmy Walker; nieces, Petre White, Angela E. Pleasants, Martu Andrews, several other relatives and devoted friends, including, godson Eric Stewart and Ms. Rosalind Jackson.
