Ms. Joyce Marie Williams was born on November 20, 1945 in Jacksonville, Florida to Leonard E. and Mrs. Mildred Pettiford-Williams.  She attended the local schools and graduated from Northwestern Jr./Sr. High School – Class of 1963.

Joyce was employed by the City of Jacksonville in the Senior Service Division, where she retired after rendered over twelve years of dedicated service.

She was a strong, outspoken and no-nonsense person.  Joyce was an excellent cook; she cooked so good that it always made you come back for more.  She was the family "Rock" for friends and family gatherings.  Her smile, fun and laughter will always be remembered.

Other affiliations include being an active member of The Jacksonville Trotters Motorcycle Club, where she was affectionately known as, "Easy Money."

She was predeceased by her parents, Leonard and Mildred Williams; sister, Joann Cates-Brown and two days following her passing, her brother, Ernest Paul Williams also passed away.

On February 8, 2022, Ms. Joyce Marie Williams went into the bosom of Abraham.  She leaves to cherish her memory her loving and devoted daughter and caretaker, Penny Whitlock (Woody); sister, Jacqueline Williams; aunt, Rhoda Nichols; nieces and nephews, Andrea Michelle Wells, Michael Wells, Petula Gomillion (Marvin), David Dunston, Ernestine Williams and Ernest Williams; grandnieces and nephews, Tajay Nelson, Zae Cari Nelson, Tray LeCount, Mina Wells, Tierra Wells and Brittany Whitlock; great-grand nieces and nephews; Zae Mari, Kaden, Kyrie, Ryan, Legend and Legacy; godsister, Cassandra "Chris" Moore; goddaughter, Bonita Minnis; special friends, Guanita Hester, Mercida Ellis, Terry Taylor, Felicia Beard-Taylor, Tameika Mays and James Reese; a number of many other sorrowing family and friends.
