LCDR Edgar McQuay, Jr., (USN Ret.), 75, passed away November 14, 2021.  A Jacksonville, FL native, he moved to Virginia Beach, VA for 21 years before relocating back to Jacksonville in 2001.  Mr. McQuay enlisted in the United States Navy, where he served his country before being Honorably Discharged after 28 ½ years of dedicated service. He was later employed by the U.S. Navy as an Engineer for 23 years before he retired in 2016.  Other affiliations include being a member of the Naval Officer Association.  He was predeceased by his parents, Edgar McQuay, Sr. and Mrs. Gladys Crettie McQuay; brothers, James Edward McQuay and Thomas Harold McQuay; sisters, Maxine Lynette Murray and Queen Elizabeth Coleman and son-in-law, Arnett Jones. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Madeline O. McQuay; children, Mrs. Natasha McQuay Wells (Richard, Jr.), Darryck E. McQuay (his one and only daughter-in-law, Alecia) and Marsha Story Jones; grandchildren, Octavia Wells, Darryck McQuay, Jr., Victoria McQuay, Neveah Wells, Ne'Vonte Wells, DaAuntre Wells; siblings, Patricia Ann Roscoe, Sylvia Renee McQuay and Nettie Mae Cummings (Darnell); a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends, including special friends, Moses Bing (Alice), Merita Schuler, Johnnie Austin (Jimmy) and Van Foreman.
