Brother Lemar Lee May (affectionately known as Pa Pa, Leman, and
Doley) was born on July 27, 1949 in Grady, Alabama to Mr. Johnnie R.
May and Mrs. Dilsie Armstrong May.
Brother Lemar was educated in the Alabama school system. In 1970, he
enlisted in the United States Navy where he served for 8 years. Upon an
honorable discharge, Lemar attended Florida Community College at
Jacksonville where he obtained his Associates degree in Fire Science and
Prevention.
Brother Lemar joined the Naval Air Station Fire Department where he
worked until retirement in 2006 after 35 years of federal service. After
retiring, Lemar then worked for Grumman, Smalley's and did contracting
work on the side.
On February 7, 2020 Brother Lemar transitioned from this life and was
preceded in death by his parents; siblings-Jimmy R. May, Johnny R. May
Jr., Bernice May Jones, Susie L. May, Dilsie May Thomas, Mollie R. May Stanford, Willie G.
May, Eleanor M. Olive, Alberta M. Wilson and Booker T. Williams.
He leaves to cherish his love and memories: Wife of 42 years, Annie F.
May; Children- Tanesia L. May (Marilyn), Tameka L. Joseph, Torie L.
Dorval (Greffin), Teala L. Berry (Christopher), Demeshia Bedford;
Grandchildren- Hezekiah, Alyssa, Ava, Zoey, Harper, Carter; Siblings-
Julius G. May (Mary), Annie Louise May Allen, Laura B. May Johnson,
Daisy L. May Sewell (Freddie); Sisters/Brothers-in-law- Dr. Shirley Lemons
(Harold), Annie Lois May, Fairse Thomas, Sr., Algie L. Jones, Pastor Dale
Mason (Beverly), Eric Mason, Joe Brown, Wayne Mason, John Francis
Mason and Craig Mason; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
