Marian Norris Brown's Obituary
A native of Jacksonville,
Mrs. Marian Laverne Norris Brown
attended the local public schools of Duval County, and was a member and majorette of the New Stanton Blue Devil Band. Furthering her education, she attended FSCJ and earned the A.A. Degree in Education. Mrs. Brown was employed with the Jacksonville Electric Authority for over 10 years as a Customer Service Representative. As a member of Bethel Baptist, she was Deaconess Emeritus. She was predeceased by her husband, Elijah Brown; father, William Norris; and 2 sisters. She leaves to cherish her memories her devoted children, Ms. Claretha Michelle Norris Johnson, Rev. Michael V.K. Norris (Ruth), Mrs. Myra Byrd (Nathaniel), Ms. Stephanie Simmons, Ms. Ginny A. Brown and Ms. Dianne D. Brown; 12 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; mother, Mrs. Claretha M. Ricks; sister, Mrs. Lorraine Kohn-Roberts; brother, Herbert Roziers, Jr. (Julie); adopted sister, Ms. Faye J. Cook; a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
