Mrs. Mary Ella Gilbert Walton was born in Jacksonville, Florida on September 20, 1935 to the late Fredrick and Mrs. Johnella Gilbert.  She attended Stanton Senior High School.

Mrs. Walton was employed as a Supervisor with Tropical Uniform Company, having rendered over thirty years of dedicated service before retiring.

In her adult life she met and married Wilbert Walton.  To this union were born three beautiful children, Gregory, Deloris and Wilbert, Jr.

Mrs. Walton accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior at an early age, while attending Mt. Ararat Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Dallas Graham.  She was currently a faithful member of Zion Hope Missionary Baptist Church, where she served on District #3, Deacon Wilbert Mason, Leader.

She was predeceased by her son, Gregory Walton; brothers, Johnny Gilbert and Frederick Gilbert; sisters, Mrs. Ruth Glover and Mrs. Virginia Hunter.

On November 15, 2019, Mrs. Mary Ella Gilbert Walton went home to be with the Lord.  She leaves to cherish her memory her children; Ms. Deloris Walton Kidd and Wilbert Walton, Jr.; grandchildren, Dedrick Wallace, Ms. Ajai' Walton, Gregory Walton, II, Gregory Walton, III, Ms. Tanisha Turner; 22 great grandchildren; brothers-in-law, Ossie Walton (Winnie) and Roosevelt Walton; sisters-in-law, Mrs. Susie Gilbert, Ms. Rudene James, Ms. Mattie Mae Barnes (Columbus) and Mrs. Geraldine Robinson (Michael); a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
