Ms. Mary Grayer Yancey was born in Holmes County , Mississippi to the late Mrs. Rebecca Johnson Grayer and the late Joseph Grayer on January 6, 1941. Her education was in the public schools of Cleveland, Ohio .

Later in her adult life, she was saved and baptized in the holy spirit in 1988.  Ms. Yancey relocated to Jacksonville, Florida in 2007.  Employed as a Home Health Aide, Ms. Yancey rendered over twenty years of creditable and dedicated service before retiring.

Ms. Mary Grayer Yancey transitioned from this life on Sunday, May 19, 2024 in Jacksonville, Florida.  She was preceded in death by her parents; and daughter, Terri Weaver.  Ms. Yancey leaves to cherish her great memories   her grandson, Speedo Yancey; great grandchildren , Domonique Harper-Johnson, Treneti Yancey, Jeremy Yancey, and Ethan Yancey ;  great-great grandchildren,  Domonique Harper- Johnson, Jr,  Antwane Hendrix and Anaiylah Hendrix; sisters, Mrs. Georgia Pierce,  Ms. Elizzie Robinson, Mrs. Rebecca Rattley ( Edward), Mrs. Betty Jean Malloy (Kenneth), and Ms.Dianne Greer; brothers,  James Grayer ( Dawn)  and Ickel Grayer;  a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
