CARRIER Mrs. Mildred B. Carrier, formerly of Van Gundy Rd passed away January 2, 2011. A Jacksonville native, Mrs. Carrier was born to the late Eddie Lee Bowens and Mrs. Lillie Kinard Bowens. She received her early education from the Duval County Public School System. Mrs. Carrier was a dedicated and loving homemaker for many years. She was a faithful member of Bethel Baptist Institutional Church, under the pastorate of Bishop Rudolph W. McKissick, Sr. and Bishop Rudolph W. McKissick, Jr., Senior Pastors. Survivors include her daughter, Mrs. Thelma C. Cobb; son, Raymond Wade; 5 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 10 great-great grandchildren; a number of other relatives and friends. FUNERAL SERVICE will be 11 AM, Friday, January 7, 2011 in the Rufus E. Payne Memorial Chapel of the mortuary, with Rev. Theodore Johnson, Officiating. Mrs. Carrier will rest in the mortuary for visitation Thursday from 5 PM until 8 PM (where the family will receive friends at 5 PM) and Friday from 9 AM until the hour of service. Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends are asked to assemble at the chapel under the direction of ALPHONSO WEST MORTUARY, INC., 4409 Soutel Dr. (904) 766-9671.
