Mildred Joy Mitchell's Obituary
MITCHELL - Mrs. Mitchell passed away peacefully on August 31, 2018. A native of Jasper, FL, having resided in Jacksonville most of her life. Mrs. Mitchell was Owner/Operator of Mitchell's Transportation, where she rendered over 18 years of dedicated service before retiring. Other affiliations include being a former member of OES. She was predeceased by her parents; husbands, Lee Holmes Joy and M.C. Mitchell; 17 siblings and grandson, Markus Joy. Survivors include her children, Oscar Joy, Ms. Annie Joy Filer, Ms. Beatrice Joy Tiller (Willie), Mark Joy (Melva), Ms. Theresa Joy Young, Calvin Joy (Patricia), Daniel Joy (Royeller) and Patricia Joy; grandchildren, Shannon Joy, Stacey Lester (Sterling), Oscar Joy, Jr., Ms. Antoinette Joy, Andrea Joy, Garnigan (Douglas), Ms. Angel Joy, Ms. LaKeisha Joy-Little (Manuel), Rayshawn Tiller (Edlesha), Miguel Joy (Chrystal), Dion Young, Ebony Williams (Roosevelt), Calvin Joy, Jr., Jarvis Joy, Patrice Joy, Daniel Joy, Jr., Dante' Joy, Devante' Joy, Antonio Joy, Aidan Joy, Tyrone Joy, Curtis McGill, Jr., Reginald Taylor, Jr.; sisters-in-law, Mrs. Ethel Gilley, Mrs. Charlie Mae Gilley and Mrs. Myra Gilley; special granddaughter, Ms. Ella Joy; a number of great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
