Obituary

Missionary Marian Stanford Singleton passed away peacefully August 21, 2021.  A native of Jacksonville, she attended the local schools of Duval County, graduating from Stanton Senior High School.  Furthering her education, she attended Edward Waters College (now University), where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree.  The Master's degree in Elementary Education was conferred at Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University.  As one of Duval County's Outstanding Educators, Missionary Singleton was employed by the Duval County School Board as a Teacher, having rendered over thirty-two years of dedicated service before retiring.  She was predeceased by her daughters, Beverly Sermon and Phyllis Anita Singleton and husband, Elder Bernard David Singleton.  Survivors include her grandchildren, Nicholas Dix, David Beard (Tessa) and Mrs. Trinity Sermon-Kohn (Nicholas); great grandchildren, David Beard, Jr., Darian Beard, Genesis Kohn and Dream Beard; son-in-law, Arthur Sermon; a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
