Obituary

Thomas James Johnson, affectionately known as "Alvin Stone," was born on November 15,1961, in Jacksonville, Florida, to the late Roosevelt and Willard Dean Bailey Johnson.

He was educated in the local public schools and graduated from Andrew Jackson Senior High School, Class of 1979.

He accepted Christ as his personal Lord and Savior and Savior at an early age.

For more than two decades, Thomas made his home in Douglas, Georgia. During his time there, he was employed with Golden Poultry, Inc., where he served faithfully as a Supervisor and provided over twenty years of dedicated service before retiring. While living in Douglas, he was a loyal member of Sears Street Church of God by Faith.

Upon returning to Jacksonville, Thomas continued his commitment to hard work and service through his employment with the Duval County School District as a Custodian. Thomas James, as everyone would call him, was often the life of the party and never met a stranger.

On November 7, 2025, Thomas peacefully departed this earthly life. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roosevelt and Willard Johnson; three sisters, Mildred Johnson, Helen Johnson Colbert, and Martha Ann Johnson, and brother-in-law, Charles Colbert.

Thomas leaves to cherish his memory his loving siblings: Roosevelt Johnson, Jr. (Mary), Curtis Johnson, Harrison Johnson, Judy Johnson, Diane Johnson, and Latasha Johnson; devoted nieces and nephew, Christine Johnson Woodfork, Elder Toby J. Johnson, and Tameeka S. Johnson; along with a number of other nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and many friends who will remember him fondly.
