A Celebration of Life for Ms. Altamese Kelly Powell, will be held 11 AM, SATURDAY, December 3, 2022, at West Union Missionary Baptist Church, where she held membership,Dr. Leroy C. Kelly, Pastor, Dr. Darien K. Bolden,Sr., Pastor of First Missionary Baptist Church of Fernandina, Officiating. She peacefully passed away on November 24,2022 in a local hospital. A 1966 graduate of New Stanton Senior High School, and an alumna of Bethune-Cookman University and The University of Florida, Ms. Powell was a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., NAACP and National Council of Negro Women. She was an Administrator employed by The State Of Florida until retiring after 34 years of dedicated service. Her parents Mr. Leroy Kelly and Mrs. Isabelle Atkinson Kelly preceded her in death. Survivors include, her daughter, RoTore' Powell; sister, Dr. Regina R. Kelly-Scurry; brother, Dr. Leroy C. Kelly;devoted nephew, Kelly N-L Scurry; a number of other relatives and friends.

The VISITATION for Ms. Powell will be held at the mortuary on Friday, December 2, 2022 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery. DUE TO COVID-19 AND IN ADHERENCE TO THE CDC MANDATE,ALL ATTENDEES ARE ASKED TO PLEASE WEAR A MASK.
