Life's Reflections
Mrs. Betty Jean Hayes Washington was born to the late Avram and Rebecca Session
Hayes on September18, 1943 in Jacksonville, Florida. She attended the public schools
of Duval county , graduating in the Class of 1961.
Early in life, she accepted Christ as her Savior and at the time of her demise, was a
member of Summerville Missionary Baptist Church, currently under the pastorate of
Pastor Michael T. Guerin.
Mrs. Washington was a Seamstress, who was employed by Hugo's for many years
before becoming self-employed. She retired after rendering over thirty(30) years of
dedicated service.
Mrs. Betty Jean Hayes Washington transitioned to eternal life on Saturday, March 28,
2025. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Ms. Delores Jones-
Williams; sister, Ms. Irene Clark; and brothers, Jewell Hayes and David Hayes. She
leaves to cherish her memory, her daughters, Ms. Anita Washington, Ms. Sharon
Williams, and Mrs. Carolyn Millhouse; granddaughter, Nakeria Jones; sisters, Mrs. Ezra
Sneed, Minister Benita Hayes, Ms. Rhonda Barnes Baker; aunt, Mrs. Emma Jean
Easter; a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
