Paul Edward Rucker, Sr., 78, passed away February 7, 2021.  A native of Jacksonville, he attended the local schools, graduating from New Stanton Senior High School – Class of 1962.  Upon graduating, Mr. Rucker was employed as a Merchant Seaman for 10 years.  He also served in the U.S. Army, and received an honorable discharge.  He was employed by Amtrak as a Sleeping Car Porter, rendering over 35 years of dedicated service before retiring. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Irma Gardner Rucker; son, Paul E. Rucker, Jr. (LaKeisha); grandchildren, Evan Paul Rucker and Nehemyah Matthews; siblings, Ms. Ludell Ervin-Williams, Luther Rucker (LaRose),  Earlie Rucker, Mses. Phyllis Brooks and Novetta Butler; brothers-in-law, Ossie Gardner and Henry Gardner; sisters-in-law, Mses. Angie Sherman, Delores James, Gloria Gardner and Martha Gardner; a number of other relatives and friends.
