Obituary

Ponce De Leon Rogers, 79, passed away September 22, 2021.  A native of Palatka, Florida, he attended the local schools, graduating from Central Academy - Class of 1960.  Furthering his education, he moved to New York, where he earned an Associates degree in Law.

Ponce enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1966, where he served his country faithfully before being Honorably Discharged due to an injury in 1969.  During his time in the Marine Corps, he received several commendations including: National Defense Service Medal,Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Purple Heart (2 stars), and a Bronze Star Medal.  After his many years spent in the Marines Corps, he worked as an Investigator and spent time enjoying football, shopping and speaking highly of his time in the military.

He was predeceased by his father, Arnett Rogers and his brother, Alfonzo Brown.

Ponce De Leon Rogers leaves to cherish his memory his daughter, Breanna Hendricks; granddaughter, Jailyn Cross; mother, Mrs. Gladys B. Zanders; sister, Caroline Sheppard (Eddie, Sr.); brothers, Lorenzo Zanders (Valeria), John Zanders, Arnett B. Rogers, Sr., Reginald Rogers and Donald Rogers; a number nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
