Reverend Robert Earl Funderburg, 85, passed away May 13, 2022.  A native of Birmingham, AL, he attended the local schools of Jefferson County, graduating from A. H. Parker High School – Class of 1954.  Furthering his studies, he attended Alabama Agricultural and Mechanical University.  Rev. Funderburg was employed by the City of Cleveland (Cuyahoga County) as a Social Worker, where he rendered over 20 years of dedicated service before retiring.  Prior to relocating to Jacksonville, he resided in Columbus, GA, where he served as an Ordained Minister at Greater Shady Grove Baptist Church.  Rev. Funderburg was predeceased by his parents, William and Mrs. Verley Hutchins Funderburg and sons, Michael C. Funderburg. Sr. and Gerald R. Funderburg, Sr.  Survivors include his children, Robert Funderburg, Jr. (Brenda), Andre Love, Sr., Delphine Maiden (Earnest, Jr.) and Lesa Funderburg; 22 grandchildren; a number other relatives and friends.
