SMITH, JR. –  Rev. Smith passed away peacefully February 23, 2020. A native of Ayden, NC, he attended the local public schools of Green County, graduating from Snow Hill High School. After completing high school, he enlisted into the U.S. Army, where he served his country faithfully before being Honorably Discharged. Furthering his education, he attended North Carolina Central University, where he earned a B.S. degree in Biology and later the Doctorate degree in Theology was conferred at Southern Baptist School for Biblical Studies. Rev. Smith was the Pastor of Second Missionary Baptist Church, where he rendered 31 years of dedicated service before retiring. He was also employed by NAS/JAX as Head Laboratory Technologist, having rendered over 30 years of dedicated service before retiring. He was predeceased by his parents, Odell Smith, Sr. and Mrs. Alice Rosetta Smith; brother, Jasper Smith and sister, Mrs. Inez Smith Wearing. Survivors include his devoted wife of 29 years, Mrs. Corliss Bailey Smith; daughters, Alicia Smith Sierra (Elliot), Robin Smith Turner (Paul), Corlisa Fuller Page (Roger) and Patrice Fuller; sons, William Lonza Fuller, II (Sandra), Joshua Fuller and Lorenzo Fuller; 14 grandchildren; 2 goddaughters; a number of other relatives, church family and friends.
