Obituary

Mother Rosa Mae Gadson Williams was born September 18, 1920 in Walterboro, South Carolina to the late Willie and Mrs. Elizabeth Gadson, she moved to Jacksonville, Florida at a young age.  She attended the local public schools of Duval County, graduating from Stanton Senior High School – Class of 1939.

Mother Williams was a faithful member of Lewis Memorial African Methodist Episcopal Church, Reverend Cynthia J. Hartsfield, Pastor, where she served as Mother of the Church and a member of the Stewardess Board.

She was predeceased by her husband of over sixty years, Raymond Williams; only grandson, Cornelious Miller; brother, Leonard Gadson and sister, Mildred Lewis.

On October 9, 2019, Mother Williams went home to be with the Lord.  She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted daughter, Mrs. Handloria Mitchell; great grandson, Zi'yair Mitchell; two sisters, Mrs. Frances Cook and  Mrs. Wilhelmina Fisher; nieces, Mrs. Faye Gale (Kenneth),  Ms. Toni Heggs; Mrs. Darcel Harris (Theodore); Ms. Gwendolyn Clayton of Orlando, Florida; nephew, Ronnie Johnson of Ocala, Florida, Ronald Cook and Elliott Lewis; a number of other relatives and friends .
