Rose Lancaster Smith was born in Marianna, Florida on March 13, 1936 to the late Lillie Lancaster and Booker Langston.  A lifelong resident of Jacksonville, Florida, she attened the Potter's House International Ministries, Bishop Vaughn M. McLaughlin, Pastor, she was also a former member of Mt. Vernon Missionary Baptist Church.

Rosa graduated from Stanton Senior High School and Edward Waters College.  She retired as and Educator from the Duval County Public School System after over 20 years of dedicated service.  She served on many committees for both community and church organizations.  She was very creative and loved sewing, quilting, bowling, gardening and taking on any home improvement project.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband for over 52 years, Frank L. Smith.  She is survived by her sister, Mary Lancaster Martin; loving and devoted children, Cheryle Taylor Ramsey, Darryl Smith (Ackerline), Carol Johnson (Kelvin), grandchildren, Lisa Taylor, Duane Smith (Musetta), Darrick Smith (Wendy), Daniel Smith, Alex Smith, Cassidy Johnson and Kelsey Johnson.  She also has 6 great grandchildren; Duane, Jr., Hadiya, Nia, Khalil, Olivia and Theodore; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
