Russell Taylor, Sr., age 76, passed away peacefully October 28, 2019.  A native of Jacksonville, he attended the local public schools, graduating from New Stanton Senior High School – Class of 1961.  Upon graduation, Mr. Taylor enlisted in the United States Army, where he served his country faithfully before being Honorably Discharged.  Furthering his education, he attended Edward Waters College.  Mr. Taylor was employed as a Truck Driver with United Parcel Service, Inc., having rendered over forty-four years of dedicated service before retiring in 2013.  Other affiliations include being a faithful member of Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor R.L. Gundy.  Survivors include his children, Russell Taylor, Jr. (Leslie) and Mrs. Rolanda Taylor Brooks (Eric); mother of children, Mrs. Rose Marie Taylor; grandchildren, Jalen Taylor, Russell Taylor, III, Ryan Taylor, David Brooks and Daniel Brooks; sister, Mrs. Vivian Green; devoted cousin, Rev. R.L. Gundy (Wallette); devoted friend, Kamal Luqman; a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
