Obituary

Mrs. Sallie Yates Hall Kennedy passed away peacefully on July 22, 2020. A Jacksonville, Florida native, she was the third child of Mr. Jesse Q. Hall, Sr. and Mrs. Margaret (Yates) Hall. While living in Jacksonville, she attended Ebenezer United Methodist Church and Simpson Memorial United Methodist Church with her family. She was a graduate of the Boylan-Haven School for Girls, Jacksonville, Florida. Furthering her education, she received a Bachelors of Arts degree and a Masters of Arts degree from Clark-Atlanta University, Atlanta, Georgia. Her early career in teaching began on the faculty of Stanton High School, veteran's night school program. Mrs. Kennedy also devoted 32 years of dedicated service with the Atlanta Public Schools before retiring. She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter, Debra Kennedy Tinsley; granddaughter, Lisa D. Tinsley; brother-in-law, Leonard Kennedy; nieces, Karen H. Hargraves, (John); Mary C. Frazier; godson, Kenneth Crooks, III; grandnieces and grandnephews, cousins, extended family and devoted friends.
