Mr. Sammie Lee Jackson, Sr., a beloved father and grandfather, went home to be with the lord on Friday, December 8, 2023. He was born December 3, 1929 to the late Mr. Steve Jackson and Mrs. Lucy Harrell Jackson.

He was a Native of Elko, Georgia, attending Dooly county public schools, later he relocated to Jacksonville, Florida.

Mr.Jackson was employed with Singer Sewing Machine Company as a repairman rendering over 37 years until retiring.

Accepting Christ into his life at an early age Sammie was a faithful member of Evergreen Baptist Church where he also was on the Deacons Board. He was affiliated in other capacities such as the N.A.A.C.P and Edward Waters College Senior Center where he dedicated many years of service.

He was preceded in death by his parents and 3 sisters. He leaves a loving family, and is survived by his sister, Clara Daniels; children; grandchildren; great grandchildren; great great grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
