A native of Lloyd, FL, he resided in Jacksonville most of his life.  Mr. Johnson was employed by the Duval County School Board as a Custodian before retiring after rendering many years of dedicated service.  He was predeceased by his former wife, Mrs. Evelyn F. Johnson, sister, Mrs. Joe Ann Jackson and stepson, Tyrone Smith.  Survivors include his wife, Helen Williams Johnson; children, Sharen Cross, Cynthia Griffin (Garry), Samuel Johnson, Jr. (Laverne), Sarah Sheffield (Joseph), Laronsia Reynolds (Sidney) of Alaska and Keith Johnson (Jessica) of Tennessee and Reginald Johnson; sisters, Shirley Jefferson of Tallahassee, FL, Rosa Lee Arnold of Tallahassee, Linda Bobson (Michael) of Texas and Carolyn Johnson of Miami; brothers, James Johnson (Annie) of Tampa, Tommie Johnson of Tallahassee, FL, Ernest Johnson and Leroy Johnson of Tallahassee, FL; stepchildren, Emma West (James), Millie Johnson (Bobby), Marion Smith, Barbara Ann Smith, Elen Hores, Lorenzo Smith (Marcel) and Phillip Smith (Cecila) ; 38 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; 2 great-great-great grandchildren; a number of other relatives and friends, including very special friend, Ruth Scott.
