Thelma Edith Whitted Johnson's Obituary
JOHNSON - Mrs. Johnson passed away peacefully October 9, 2018 in a local hospital. A native of Jacksonville, she attended the local public schools of Duval County, graduating from Stanton Senior High School – Class of 1952. Furthering her education, she attended West Virginia State College, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education and was initiated in Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. As one of Duval County's Outstanding Educators, Mrs. Johnson rendered over 32 years of dedicated service in Duval County Public Schools before retiring. She was predeceased by her parents, Emanuel C. Whitted, Mrs. Ruth Stukes Harris and Marvin C. Harris. Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Jimmie A. Johnson; daughters, LaVonne Frison (Lawrence), Janice Johnson and Jewel Johnson; granddaughters, LaTasha Frison and Jordan Johnson; great grandson, Devin O'Bryant; siblings, Leon Harris (Renee), Sheryl LaRosa, Windell Harris and Derrick Harris; sister-in-law, Doretha Johnson; best friend, Celestine Lewis; a number of other relatives and friends.
