Obituary

Mr. Thomas Lee Grant, beloved son of the late Lee Grant and Mrs. Emma Lime Williams Grant, was born September 10, 1950 in Dorchester County, South Carolina. He was called to his heavenly home on Wednesday, September 13, 2023.

Thomas was a product of the local public schools of Dorchester County, where he attended Austin High School. Early in his life, he accepted Christ and at the time of his demise, he was a member of New Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church of Jacksonville, Florida, under the pastorate of Reverend Dr. Ronald G. Williams.

As a young adult, he relocated to Atlanta, Georgia, where for a number of years, he was employed in the Construction Industry. In 1992, he relocated to Jacksonville, Florida, where he continued employment in the Construction Industry before retiring after rendering over forty years.

He was united in Holy Matrimony to the former Ms. Sharon Nesbit. This loving union was blessed for more than 31 years. Among his many interests, his favorite was his love of travel and being an RVer. He and Sharon shared the love of being active members of Northeast Florida Campers RV Club (NEFC) for eight years, and the National African American RVers Association and it's Southern Region.

Preceding Thomas in death are his parents and brother, Jerome Grant. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 31 years, Mrs. Sharon Nesbit Grant; children, Ms. Tabatha Nicole "Nikki" Grant Simpson, Nairobi Grant(Marji), Kenneth Robinson, and Ms. Mary Robinson; grandchildren, Carrington Simpson, Simone Grant, Christopher Cluster and Robin Moore; brother, Michael Grant, Sr.(Aleathia) and David
