Obituary

Mrs. Vivian Johnson Moore was born July 4,1931 to the late Julius Johnson and Mrs. Laura Hammond Johnson in Jacksonville, Florida. She attended the local public schools of Duval County, and was a proud graduate of Stanton Senior High School – Class of 1950. Furthering her education she attended Florida A&M University, where she earned the Bachelors Degree graduating in the Class of 1954.

Early in life, she accepted Christ as her Savior and became a member of  St. Joseph United Methodist Church.  As a faithful member of her church, she had a devout faith in God.

On November 23,1961 the then Miss. Vivian Johnson was united in Holy Matrimony to Mr.Alfred D. Moore and this union was blessed with three children.

As one of Duval County's outstanding educators Mrs. Moore was employed with the Duval County School Board until retiring in 1993 after rendering 33 years of dedicated service other affiliations include The Centurian Civic Club.

Mrs.Vivian Johnson Moore departed this life Saturday, September 17,2022. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Alfred D. Moore. She leaves to cherish her memory her daughters, Mrs. Cassandra Mathew and Mrs. Colette Moore; son, Roderick Moore (Machelle); grandchildren, Terrance Howell, James Howell, Jason Terrell, Porshe Smith, Jasmine Jefferson, Brittni Moore, Shelby Moore, Roderick Moore Jr, Rochelle Moore, Rachel Moore and a number of other  relatives and friends.
