Obituary

William Farmer, known affectionately by family as 'Farmer,' passed away at the age of 79 on 04th February 2024 at his home in Jacksonville, FL. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, 2/10/2024, 12:30p.m. at West Memorial Mortuary, 4409 Soutel Drive, Jacksonville, FL 32208.

William Henry Farmer was born on August 24, 1944 in Jacksonville, FL. He graduated from New Stanton High School in 1962, where he met his high school Sweetheart,  Corrina Bell Farmer. Following graduation, he served in the Army from 1962 – 1967.  He then entered the business world as a part of the building material industry.  After a total of 43 years of service in that industry, he decided to retire from Parliament Building Products in 2011. He married his high school Sweetheart on September 20, 1965.  He was a devoted husband that loved his wife dearly for 58 years.  He was an avid Jaguars fan and a proud season ticket holder since the team's inaugural season. He loved goingto the games with his brother and tailgating. In addition, he loved old school music, hanging out at the gym with his brother and fishing.

He is most known for his love for his wife and his family.  He also had a love for people.  He loved having a good time, making people laugh and always, always had a smile on his face.  From cookouts to crab boils, to a good fish fry, he was the guy that would call everyone over for great food and fun times. He was always on the go ensuring he made the most out of life. Even when stressed or heavy hearted, no one ever knew because he smiled right through it until it passed. Although he was never a particularly religious guy he faithfully supported and accompanied his loyal and devoted beloved wife, Corrina Farmer to Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses meetings, memorials and conventions.

For many years, William would hang out at his brother's house; which was the gathering place for many. It was a judgment free place everyone could come, have a good time and feel welcomed and loved. He will forever be remembered for his sense of humor and his love for family and friends.  Everyone knew that they could count on him for a good laugh whenever he was around. He had a way of making you forget about your worries and just enjoy life. It's that spirit that will be missed most. It's that smile and laughter that we, his family and friends, will always hold so dear. It is these memories that will strengthen us now and in the future.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Corrina Bell Farmer; mother, Annie Lee Farmer; father, Verner Farmer, Sr; brother Verner (BJ) Farmer, Jr.; grandson, Dale Lenard Jones and niece, Pamela Burns.

He is survived by his sons, Derrick Farmer and Billy Williams (Tanya Williams); daughters: Favina Paris and Melissa Farmer Miller (Garry Miller); grandchildren, Terrence Paris, Terryll Paris,  Derrick Jones (Dee Dee) and Raquan Littles; great grandchildren, Terrence Paris, III and Jeremiah Stringfield; closest cousin Minny as well as a host of other family and friends too numerous to name.
