Obituary

Mr. Willie Hay was born on May 1, 1928 in Kline, South Carolina to Johnnie and Mrs. Sadie Mixson Hay.

He accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior at an early age and was a member of Prospect United Methodist Church, Allendale, South Carolina.

In his adult life, he relocated to Jacksonville, where he met and married the former Ms. Lorine Taylor.  To this union were born ten children.

He was employed by Jerry Smith Auto Body as a Mechanic, having retired after rendering over twenty-five years of dedicated service.

Other affiliations include being a member of St. Paul A.M.E. Church, where he was a former Class Leader, under the present pastorate of Reverend Dr. Marvin C. Zanders, II. Mr. Hay was also a member of the Masonic Order.

He was predeceased by his parents, Johnnie and Mrs. Sadie Mixson Hay; brothers, John Gary Hay (Gertrude), Joseph Hay (Beatrice) of Beaufort, SC, General Hay, Sr. (Orphia) of Kline, SC and Florence Hay Pernell (Milligan) of Kline, SC; sister, Lucille Hay Posey; infant siblings, Robert and Lucille Hay.

On May 12, 2021, Mr. Willie Hay went home to be with the Lord.  He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife, Mrs. Lorine T. Hay; children, Ms. Wanda Hay Brewton, Willie L. Hay (Trina), Mrs. Sadie Hay Clark (Harcourt), Johnnie Hay, Brin Hay, John Gary Hay (Tonya), Gary Hay (Tonya), Marshawn Hay, LaKeisha Hay, Marcel Hay and Kevin Hay; 22 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; brother, James Hay (Emmer Lee); brother-in-law, Isaac Milligan of Kline, SC; nieces, Lina M. Person and Linda Moore Pernell; nephews, Reverend General Hay Jr. (Nell) of Hilton Head, SC and William Toledo Pernell (Jade) of Stone Mountain, GA; a number of other relatives and friends.
