Obituary

Mrs. Willie Mae Porter Maples was born to Willie and Vergiree Porter on September 12, 1941 in Jacksonville, Florida.  She attended Stanton Vocational High School.

Willie Mae adored children and helped raise countless number of children.  Mrs. Maples was well known for her amazing cooking and cake baking.  She enjoyed singing, dancing and listening to music.  Among other traits, she was a great host as well as being a very family oriented person - who celebrated life.

She was preceded in death by her son, Paul King; parents, Willie and Vergiree Porter and brother, Jimmie Porter.

On April 21, 2021, Mrs. Willie Mae Porter Maples passed away.  She leaves to cherish her loving lifelong memories beautiful children, Antonio Porter, Tiawanna Porter, Danielle Maples and Jessica Saxton; grandchildren, Verdena Petty,, Johnathan Maples, Breanna Story, Kiara Maples, Roderick Johnson, Wachovia White, Anthony Thornton, Quanterria Bennett, Jaloni, Jamoni, Jaurnei, Jasperm Jaslyn, Justyce, Jeanine, Jaleesia and Jammers; 13 great grandchildren; goddaughters, Lisa Bonsell, Marijuana Brown and Laswanta Brown; siblings, Sylvester (Janie), Rosetta Campbell, Harold Porter (Janice), Reverend Rudolph Porter (Sonya), Jacquelyn Porter Smith, Joann Porter Telfair, Darshan Porter and Terrance Porter.
